✅ CREDIBILITY & MISSION
-
What is Hooporia Institute Inc.’s nonprofit status?
Hooporia Institute Inc. is recognized as a nonprofit organization under Section 508(c)(1)(A) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our EIN is 66-1104700. Donations made to Hooporia are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. No goods or services are provided in exchange for contributions.
-
How does Hooporia fit into the 508(c)(1)(A) structure?
Section 508(c)(1)(A) recognizes values-based nonprofits that serve the public good — just like Hooporia. This designation allows us to operate as a faith-aligned, community-centered nonprofit in Puerto Rico, accept tax-deductible donations, and deliver free programs like SEL The Inner Game™ without commercial or political pressure. It lets us move with purpose and focus — serving students, not systems.
-
What is a charter school?
Charter schools are independently operated public schools. They receive public funding but have more flexibility in how they design and deliver education. They’re often more responsive, mission-driven, and ideal partners.
-
Why do you only work with charter schools?
We focus on Title 1 charter schools because they provide a direct path to decision-makers who can approve and implement SEL The Inner Game quickly. Charter schools are agile, aligned with our values, and free from excess bureaucracy that can delay programs. This ensures your donations create real impact — fast.
-
What is Title 1?
Title 1 is a federal program that provides funding to schools with high percentages of students from low-income families. These funds are meant to ensure all students meet academic standards. SEL The Inner Game supports Title 1 goals by improving focus, emotional wellness, and learning outcomes.
✅ ABOUT THE PROGRAM

-
Is there a certificate of completion?
Yes. Every student who completes the program receives a digital certificate, recognizing their growth and achievement in SEL The Inner Game™.
-
Can a school request a pilot program?
Absolutely. We encourage schools to start with a single classroom or focused group — then scale up with our full support.
-
How is the program funded?
BOS is 100% donor-funded. Each student’s full-year access is valued at $50. Your donation goes directly to expanding access across Puerto Rico.

Thanks to donor support, The Inner Game is provided free of charge to eligible Title 1 charter schools. Private funding opportunities and sponsorships are welcome, but the program is not available for individual sale or public licensing.
